Let's Plan Your Session

See below for details to help you prepare!

What To Wear

Envision your session. Where are we? In a field with golden grass, in your home, at the beach, surrounded by green oak trees or green pasture?

So much of what you wear for your session depends on what you will be doing with your photos and how you want them to feel. Here are my go-to tips!

  • Earth or Jewel Tones
  • Something you can move well in
  • Add Texture and Layers
  • Accessorize
  • Soft Patterns
  • Pick 3-4 Colors and Mix & Match pieces
  • Stay away from bright reds or neon

What To Bring

Sessions can go fast! It's good to be prepared.

Things like getting kiddos dressed onsite and having a snack or a treat on hand can help easy as nerves! I'm happy to help with any specific request when planned before. Things like blankets, baskets, benches are easy for me to bring!

  • Change of Clothes if needed
  • Comfort toys for kiddos (something small)
  • Snacks, Water, or Treats (for kiddos or pets)
  • Special Blankets or Props
  • Touch up make-up (lip or powder)
  • Shate any pinned boards, shot lists must haves, or inspiration for your session.

What to Expect

My vibe towards a session is to be organic in approach and capture things as they naturally happen. I love a good photo where everyone is smiling perfect...and I'll stand on my head to get it. lol However, I will capture a mix of posed and candid shots from different angles. If kiddos are involved it's best to remain relaxed, try to have fun, laugh and smile with them! If they get silly don't be upset, that's normal for kids! Often engaging with them helps them flash their perfect smile and produces a genuine moment! If you have any specific ideas in mind don't be afraid to ask.
